Music is life. How can it ever be ignored if the first cry of a new born baby is music and signifies the beginning of a new life?
Join us here, as we unveil the Arts of Music in African Ghanaian perspective --with comments from partners in America.
One of the oldest among the arts in Ghana is music. The Arts of Music takes a critical look at Ghanaian music from the ancient Ghanaian music to the modern one. We begin by looking into the nature of African Ghanaian music, how it came about, the importance, the instruments that are involved and the factors that determine the rhythm and other aspects of it. Here some Ghanaian legends are recognised and the interviews serve as lavishes to them. We look at the evolution that takes place into the modern music and how the modern computer world has affected the style of our music. This has led it to be referred as Popular Music.
The pictures in this website depict a way of showing the physical aspects of our facts and to teach the outside world about the uniqueness of African Ghanaian and Popular Music.

The Art of Music team was a very exciting project and I handled the traditional music of Ghana. During my research, I was very much disappointed with Ghanaians because there were not enough books about Ghanaian traditional music. Even on the internet there were not sites where I could get very solid information about the project. Even at the University, I could only get about 4 books, which were somehow resourceful. By God’s grace some resource persons were able to help me out. The experience I have had through this project I really cherish. I feel indeed very privileged to be a part of this project.

My part was mainly with the modern music. I also contributed a part in the typing. Although a music critic, I got to know more about music that I didn’t know. I felt some sort of maturity and experience at this “confused” stages I tackled most of my problems.
